What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

When booking a performance I need a few different things to create my quote. I need the venue address and size and amount of guests so I can look at distance and how much pa I would need to supply. I also need the date and time. Not forgetting parking availability, stair usage and building access.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would say first ask to hear the performer. Then I would watch some live videos to see if the sound marries up ( some people use studio effects to get their vocals sounding so good that they don’t actually sound like themselves.) I would ask for their full repertoire to see their range of songs. I would also ask for what equipment they will be using and if they are fully insured. Are they performing close by me anytime soon?

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I love performing! From a very early age I was in the spotlight. I created my alias ‘The Soul Man’ when I was asked to do my first gig and it has felt right ever since! I love making people smile, sing along, dance and tap their feet. My whole show is based around the fact that I love every single song I sing and that passion and love of the music shows through in each individual song I sing.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I love the constant feed of people looking to book here on Add To Event. I'm new so haven’t had a booking through them yet. I’m looking forward to my first gig on this new platform.
