The 'rules' when asking for a quote are quite simple. Rule One is - Give us as much information as you can, and Rule Two - Refer to Rule One. What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

There is no substitute for experience and that needs to be followed up with dedication. Always look for a service provider who has been there and done that many many times, but still wants to give you 100%. If they still have the passion to want to do it even better than last night - then you have found the one you are looking for and you will get the best service, On a more practical note, ask if they have insurance and all the equipment that you need, plus backups in case anything goes wrong.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Malibu Disco is really an eighties creation, but before that my passion for entertaining started at school when I used to play the music for the school parties! Once it's in your blood it never leaves so why not make it a career? Now I play at hundreds of weddings and parties and still love the buzz that comes from it.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I guess one of the most memorable events that I have played, booked through this platform was a 70th birthday party for a lady in Salisbury. I wasn't expecting much but she had also booked a rock band! and some fantastic catering (mostly cheeses!) with 50 or so crazy guests made an awesome night. She loved music from the 60's & the '70s as well as salsa, so I played some great tunes that night. Add to Event has allowed me to reach some great clients and I have encouraged plenty of other DJs to join in the fun.
