What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an accurate quote I need the date, time and location of the party/event and also how many children will be attending.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Anyone can call themselves a professional face painter - there are no actual qualifications to do so! To find the right face painter for you, have a look at the person's previous work on their website or Facebook page and also read reviews they have received. Also, make sure the pictures they are displaying are actually their work. If you are looking for a "cheap" face painter chances are they will not have the experience or skill level of someone whose prices are higher - as in any business you normally get what you pay for.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Ten years ago I volunteered to take part in a 60k walk for breast cancer and had to raise £1500 to be able to take part. I decided to try face painting to help towards my fundraising and instantly became addicted to creating happy, smiley faces. In 2010, after a few years of just painting at friends' parties and my son's school fete I decided to go professional and started my own company called Caroline's Creations and then last year it became my full time career.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have only just started using Add to Event so haven't worked at an event booked through Add to Event yet. However, I have already gained two confirmed bookings within the next month.
